In order to strengthen its relationship with Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce (GGSCC), MBAGuru had planned a series of interactive career awareness sessions for the students of the college, in collaboration with the principal, faculty and staff of the campus. The sessions were designed in a manner that they can guide the 3rd yr. engineering students through this testing time. It was also a testimony of the sense of commitment that MBAGuru has towards GGSCC’s students.
Manage Your Management Quotient, the first in the series of three sessions, was conducted on 17th August, 2009 at the campus itself. There, in the midst of more than a 140 enthusiastic and eager students, Sharad Saxena (MBAGuru faculty – IITD, IIMA) talked about management as a career option and other areas of concern for students. Discussion on how the students can cope with the current global economic recession was also very well received. Subsequently, students were tested on their Management Quotient followed by an interactive discussion on problem solving approaches. Most students enjoyed this part the most as they learnt many novel techniques and got a first hand experience of “lateral thinking”!
It was very satisfying to observe that the session was able to have its desired effect. By the end of the session, the students were highly charged up and excited about the upcoming sessions. In fact, 38 students registered on the spot for the upcoming session “Group Discussions, theory and practice”. The success of the session also goes to the unconditional support and motivation provided by Prof. Jatinder Singh (Principal, GGSCC), Ms. Sheeba (Placement Coordinator, GGSCC) and Ms. Sangeeta (Faculty, GGSCC). We hope that they will continue to partner us in pursuit of career awareness for their students.
