CAT 22 is almost here. One phase of your CAT Prep journey is coming to an end. It is important to take a bigger picture look at this moment. Success at CAT, as at most things challenging, depends upon the following 5 factors:
Your Ability – this is something all of us possess in different measure in different areas. This infact, is the crux of ADAPTIVE Prep for CAT – that each of us is skilled in different ways. Knowing yourself well allows you to make best use of this ability/skill.
Your Preparation – this is something you should be very positive about. The past several months have seen you be a part of the most intensive CAT Prep process in India. You have put in a lot of effort in your CAT preparation and should feel confident about the same.
Your Application – How well you apply yourself and make use of your strengths, and use your knowledge of your weaknesses, and how well you make that day’s performance count can be fairly independent of and much better than what you have done anytime in the past. So, stay cool and apply yourself in the best possible way. Make it count.
Your Temperament – Big days and big moments are more about how well you handle the pressure and not really (just) about how talented you are. The cooler you are, the more you get past the ones who are tense/feeling the pressure. Be it a sport or a test, nerves decide the outcome on big days. With steady nerves, you can outdo even yourself, and not just others.
Your Luck – Behind most successful moments are a few things one cannot control. Call it luck, God’s will, probability or whatever, but it is evident that the more positive and confident you are, the luckier you are likely to be. So be positive, trust your CAT preparation and play till the end to increase your chances of being lucky!
The first 2 factors are broadly over in terms of what you could have done.
However, the last 3 are yet to happen. They lie ahead of you. For CAT, they take place this Sunday. But there will be other exams in the weeks to follow.
Believe in the first 40%, and focus on the 60% that still lies ahead of you.
Our best wishes are with you. Just go out and give it your best – we will be proud of you.
It is going to be your stage, you are the star, yes you are – so go, Rock it!
About the author: Deekshant has sleep-walked through several 100 and 99.9 %iles in practically every section of the CAT. That he is a cricket fan and he writes okay is evident from most of his posts. 1000s of our students swear that he can motivate almost anyone to double his/her percentile through very simple yet powerful inputs. And that’s why every MBAGuru student has direct access to him via mail and Telegram. Oddly, he somehow also finds the time to write songs professionally. And yes … almost missed this … he is an alumnus of IIT Delhi & IIM Cal
