Most of you have just completed (or are about to complete) your final exams. And if cracking CAT2022 is your goal, then your CAT preparation has a little less than 6 months to reach a crescendo. CAT-2022 is likely to be on 27th Nov, the last Sunday of November.
Whether you have already begun your CAT preparation or are just about to, there is a lot of action lined up over the next 6 months (and beyond that for some non-CAT exams as well as the PI-WAT prep). You can’t change what has happened so far – you can either build upon it (if you already have a good start) or make a fresh start. Thinking about it won’t help.
Let’s take a look at some of the recent happenings to understand their relevance to your CAT prep:
1. Gujarat Titans didn’t look like the strongest team at the auction table; MI didn’t look like the weakest. So, in sports, CAT and life, there’s nothing that you can take for granted until it actually happens. All you can do is increase the probability of it happening.
2. Nadal stormed to yet another title at the French Open – consistency of effort, not giving up, pushing himself to and beyond his own physical limits – all lessons as critical to your success at CAT as in life.
3. Jean-Julien Rojer just won the doubles final at the French Open at the age of 40! That makes him the oldest Grand Slam men’s doubles champion in the Open Era. Limits are all in the mind. Believing that things that have not happened before can also be achieved is what causes new levels of achievement. Again, something to strongly entrench in your mind for your CAT prep journey over the next several months.
CAT is not too different from life or sports. Things that can help you succeed in life and sports, are also very likely to help you succeed at the CAT. 6 months of consistent effort, working on increasing the probability of your success, pushing yourself to your limits, and believing that you can go beyond whatever you have achieved so far – that’s all you need to ensure. And it is all well within your control!
About the author: Deekshant has sleep-walked through several 100 and 99.9 %iles in practically every section of the CAT. That he is a cricket fan and he writes okay is evident from most of his posts. 1000s of our students swear that he can motivate almost anyone to double his/her percentile through very simple yet powerful inputs. And that’s why every MBAGuru student has direct access to him via mail and Telegram. Oddly, he somehow also finds the time to write songs professionally. And yes … almost missed this … he is an alumnus of IIT Delhi & IIM Cal
