Let me start with a simple question. What is the one habit that can change (it for) you and enable you to make the most of your CAT Prep. This question has its roots in the book âThe One Thingâ by Gary Keller. I first read it a few years ago.
Counter intuitive at first, it actually made a lot of sense to me later. And that prompted me to share this excerpt from the book:
âIf everyone has the same number of hours in the day, why do some people seem to get so much more done than others? How do they do more, achieve more, earn more, have more? If time is the currency of achievement, then why are some able to cash in their allotment for more chips than others?
The answer is they make getting to the heart of things the heart of their approach. They go small. Going small is ignoring all the things you could do and doing what you should do. Itâs recognizing that not all things matter equally and finding the things that matter most. It is a tighter way to connect what you do with what you want. Itâs realizing that extraordinary results are directly determined by how narrow you can make your focus.â
â Gary Keller, The One Thing: The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results
So many of you have shared with me that you are overwhelmed with stuff to do. That there is so much to do that you are unable to do anything.
Do that one most important thing, with a strong focus, at a time. Let the other things take a back-seat, and just manage them at a threshold level till that one thing works out. This can do wonders and enable to create the best CAT coaching experience for yourself.
Whatâs the one thing you can do now to make your CAT Prep successful â the one thing that would make most other things either easier or redundant?
About the author: Deekshant has sleep-walked through several 100 and 99.9 %iles in practically every section of the CAT. That he is a cricket fan and he writes okay is evident from most of his posts. 1000s of our students swear that he can motivate almost anyone to double his/her percentile through very simple yet powerful inputs. And thatâs why every MBAGuru student has direct access to him via mail and Telegram. Oddly, he somehow also finds the time to write songs professionally. And yes ⊠almost missed this ⊠he is an alumnus of IIT Delhi & IIM CalÂ
