Live teaching costs more than a recording library

Running a live class requires faculty to be present, engaged, and answering questions in real time. It requires scheduling, coordination and genuine teaching — not just uploading content.

A recorded course with 200 video lectures costs almost the same per student whether 100 people enrol or 10,000 do. A live class program doesn't scale that way.

The hidden costs nobody warns you about

The visible fee is the first number. It's not always the final cost.

Before signing up to any program, run through this list.

Extra charges for mocks and analytics. Some platforms include a small starter test package and charge separately for full-length mocks, sectional tests, or detailed performance analytics. Ask directly: are all mocks and analysis fully included, or is there an add-on?

Doubt-clearing that runs dry. A course might advertise doubt support but cap it at class time only, route you through a ticket queue, or limit it to a certain number of questions per week. Ask: if I'm stuck at 11pm between classes, what's my actual route to get it answered?

PDFs instead of books. "Study material included" can mean a lot of things. Ask whether physical books are part of the fee or whether it's app and PDF access only.

Access that expires before you're ready. If course access ends before you finish mocks, revision, or the interview prep stage, the total cost of preparation goes up. Ask: when does access expire, and what if I need it after that?

PI-WAT support that costs extra. If you get IIM calls after CAT, you need interview preparation. Some programs charge separately for that stage. Ask whether it's covered.

Refund terms that don't really apply. A low fee isn't low-risk if you can't leave the program without losing the money. Ask about the refund policy before you pay — not after.

How to figure out the right fee for your situation

The right fee isn't the lowest one. It's the one attached to the support you actually need.
