Powering your CAT Coaching journey via Telegram

The best online CAT preparation course with MBAGuru, the best online CAT coaching provides you an easy way to track your information about your course and classes.

From Facebook to WhatsApp, we experimented with a lot of social media to find the best way to provide an additional layer of CAT prep to our students with tools they are comfortable with, and that do justice in terms of ensuring the best CAT coaching experience for them.

As a part of this, our experience with Telegram began more than 5 years ago when we were looking to explore new ways of adding more power to the CAT prep of our students at MBAGuru.

The utility

We have some a long way since then, as 1000s of students engage with their faculty, challenge themselves regularly, find ways to improve, get the schedule, all relevant notifications and information pertaining to B-School admissions and accomplish much more, almost daily on our various groups/channels.

Various Groups & Channels

Each group has somewhere between 300 and 2500 students at various points in time. As an example, there are separate groups of students who are weak in certain areas – so that there can be greater focused activity to help them improve. This is over and above the basics that everyone gets access to.

There are regular articles to read, new video alerts, quizzes to attempt, sessions to understand. Plus it builds yet another platform for doubt clearing, which here becomes a 24*7 collaborative effort among the students and the faculty members.

Keeping it simple

From our end, we keep things as predictable as possible. So, you would know the time of an activity we conduct would be generally similar. Also, the recording of several online sessions is generally made available on relevant groups.

Despite this organized and focused effort, there are 2 issues that many students could face here:

  1. They may feel lost if they try and be a part of each and every group
  2. They may feel overwhelmed if they try and track every group all the time, as some or the other from 100s/1000s of students would be active at all times

So, I strongly advise you to

(a) join only the groups that are relevant to you/your needs i.e. your ADAPTIVE modules & your batch. A couple of others will soon become functional for CAT-24 aspirants.

(b) fix daily time slots (of say 10 mins each) say twice a day to track the activities in these groups

If you can follow these 2 simple things religiously, the Telegram groups/channels can add tremendous fire-power to your CAT Coaching process.

About the author: Deekshant has sleep-walked through several 100 and 99.9 %iles in practically every section of the CAT. That he is a cricket fan and he writes okay is evident from most of his posts. 1000s of our students swear that he can motivate almost anyone to double his/her percentile through very simple yet powerful inputs. And that’s why every MBAGuru student has direct access to him via mail and Telegram. Oddly, he somehow also finds the time to write songs professionally. And yes … almost missed this … he is an alumnus of IIT Delhi & IIM Cal 🙂
