Why do Champions become Champions? I didn’t ask how – because yes, invariably they practice, practice and practice!
I asked “why”!
The one thing common to most people who reach a level of excellence in any area is that they enjoy it. That’s the reason they don’t stop at anything – a bad day, a bad week, even a bad year due to an injury or a setback of some kind.
Guess what’s worse than a string of bad scores on mocks then?
That you stop enjoying your preparation because of it!
Because then you won’t get up each time that you fall.
You are unlikely to excel at something you don’t particularly enjoy. Taking it as a task to be done probably won’t give you enough fuel to last.
Laugh at your blunders and laugh away your bad scores.
Give it your best shot – but have a good time while you are at it. That will allow you to give in more and take out more.
