How do you ensure that CAT preparation is a priority?

online coaching for cat

Sometime ago I wrote to you about the Top-2 Test to assess your priorities. And I hope you have made an effort to re-prioritize things and realign your efforts with your goals. But the more specific question was whether CAT preparation is one of your Top-2 priorities for this year. Assuming that it is, there is set of related questions that may be bothering you.

But you may be wondering how do you stay committed to your priorities?

How do you stay at it in the face of so many distractions that you have?

How do you ensure things won’t be back to the earlier inertia-mode by next week?

Let me share something that has worked for me.

One of the best ways of staying committed to something is to write it down. Even better, if you can, share it with someone you trust.

The precise reason why I shared my goal of reaching out to you regularly via mails was to increase my chances of being able to do that. By sharing my commitment to a priority, I have committed myself that much more to it.

We put down the minimum deliverables on an ADAPTIVE Card that we hand out to each student at MBAGuru at the beginning of their CAT preparation journey. Why? Because it strengthens our commitment to academic excellence that much more. We know there is no escape route, no luxury of lethargy, it is the absolute minimum we must work for. And then some!

So, if there is something you wish to achieve – write it down now and if possible, share it with someone you trust, someone who would not judge you for it, someone who would probably be happy to help you achieve it, and very happy to see you achieve it.

About the author: Deekshant has sleep-walked through several 100 and 99.9 %iles in practically every section of the CAT. That he is a cricket fan and he writes okay is evident from most of his posts. 1000s of our students swear that he can motivate almost anyone to double his/her percentile through very simple yet powerful inputs. And that’s why every MBAGuru student has direct access to him via mail and Telegram. Oddly, he somehow also finds the time to write songs professionally. And yes … almost missed this … he is an alumnus of IIT Delhi & IIM Cal 🙂
