As a CAT-24 aspirant, you are luckier than the aspirants of the past few CATs in a way. You get to pursue your college studies as well as CAT Prep via physical/offline classes. The joy and effectiveness of interactive learning in a real classroom are still unmatched. The social element of education hasn’t been replicated online yet. And learning is much more than just studying a topic – nothing like young, brilliant minds in a real classroom and the in-between-classes banter and short breaks that add to lasting memories. And there is much more to an experience than words can capture.
At the same time, offline classes do put some pressure on your precious reserves of time. The two dimensions that on-campus classes can’t match online ones on are efficiency and comfort. You will need to spend time travelling, you would love to spend (offline!) time catching up with friends, and a cancelled class won’t allow you to go back home and do something else (that an online class allowed for).
As you go for regular classes to college or to your CAT prep institute, this is a crucial element you need to be aware of. It will typically mean around 2 hours of your daily time will now be out of your direct control. Of course it could and would vary, depending on your individual circumstances.
So, you need to start devising ways of making up for the same. Being aware of the situation and adapting to it – like the top sportspersons and sports teams do – is crucial to success.
